Our Leisure & Lifestyle Services are a central part of our community. We are dedicated to enabling and encouraging the residents to lead an activity based lifestyle.
Here at Charles Lodge we have two Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinators who plan a programme of activities and social events that are person centred to our resident’s individual needs and preferences. The programme has a multifaceted approach and is devised to be; creatively, physically, emotionally and cognitively stimulating. Our Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator explains” We try and go above and beyond for our residents on a daily basis. We spend one to one time with those residents who prefer not to join in with the group activities; we person centre the activities for the individual resident. We also have a friendship partnership scheme which is set up to link residents who enjoy similar activities; this so far has been a great success”
Our extensive Leisure and Lifestyle Service boasts various activities such as; Arts and Crafts, Bingo, Reminiscence Sessions, Active Games, Musical Sing a longs and Baking. We also enjoy using our tablet pc looking at places we use to live and using ‘Google’ to find out and remember old stories, songs and events in history. We also put on various theme days throughout the year celebrating events Like Burn’s Night, Chinese New Year and Trafalgar Day.
There is always plenty to do and see and we are lucky to be visited by local musical entertainers, speakers and community groups such as our local Church; we also have a hairdresser and chiropody service who visit regularly.
We strive to ensure that our residents; feel appreciated, at all times treated with respect, dignity and with an acknowledgement of their own psychological and emotional needs.
