Our Leisure & Lifestyle Services are a central part of our community. We are dedicated to enabling and encouraging the residents to lead an activity based lifestyle.
Our activity programmes are devised to be person centred and meet our individual resident’s needs.
The programme has a multifaceted approach and is devised to be; creatively, physically, emotionally and cognitively stimulating.
Here at Walmer Care Centre we have an extensive Leisure and Lifestyle Service with various activities such as; Sing for your Life, Aerobics, Arts and Crafts, Reminisce Therapy, Cookery and Baking. We also put on various theme days throughout the year celebrating events Like Burn’s Night, Chinese New Year and Trafalgar Day. Music also plays a key part in our schedule and we have regular musical events by some great entertainers and musicians such as; Maddie 4 Music, The Deal Hoodeners and The Sunshine Ukes. Walmer Care Centre’s Award Winning Leisure and Lifestyle Co-ordinator explains “We try to provide varied, interactive and fun activities for our service users. We find out as much as possible about each individual so we can incorporate their preferences in to our weekly schedule to make them person centred. The aim is to provide a happy and fulfilled environment for everyone; service users, staff and management”
Services that also can be accessed at the home are the Hairdresser and the Chiropodist.
We strive to ensure that our residents; feel appreciated, at all times treated with respect, dignity and with an acknowledgement of their own psychological and emotional needs.
