Life at Nicholas James Care Homes
Activities
At Nicholas James Care Homes, we believe in enhancing the well-being of our residents through a wide range of engaging and enjoyable activities designed to stimulate the mind, encourage social interaction, and promote a sense of belonging in the community.

My mum was always treated with the utmost respect, dignity and love by each and every one of the staff, even during the times mum could be a little challenging as her dementia took hold. We were always made to feel so welcome and were kept informed at all times by the management about mums care.

Championing Dementia Awareness and Support
In each of our homes we elect a dedicated Dementia Champion to help bring awareness to the condition and spearhead our dementia-friendly activities, ensuring our homes are always at the forefront of dementia-friendly care.
We conduct several dementia-friendly activities that help stimulate residents and keep their cognitive function active such as quizzes, puzzles, and memory games. These activities are designed to engage the mind, promote social interaction, and provide a sense of achievement for our residents.

Person-Centred, Community Minded
When in care, it’s important to keep residents connected with their community to enhance their well-being, reduce feelings of loneliness and provide intergenerational connections for everyone involved.
Each of our homes are integrated into their local community with deep relationships with local schools, nurseries, parishes and charitable organisations such as The Royal British Legion and The Salvation Army.
Heartfelt Stories
Here at Nicholas James Care Homes, we celebrate the stories of the many individuals who choose to call our homes their own. We help residents take a trip down memory lane, re-visiting fond moments in history or their own memories by incorporating them into special, personalised activities.

Keeping Active
Proper health and fitness matters at any age, but especially for those in care. By keeping active, residents can stay healthy, improve their mental well-being, and retain mobility and physical function which all contribute to a more fulfilling and independent life.
We encourage residents to stay active by regularly bringing in licensed fitness providers to host classes and exercise sessions to keep everyone moving!
