View Bio
I began my career as a nurse in 2002 and have over 20 years’ experience as a registered nurse. Upon qualifying I worked for the NHS at Kent and Canterbury Hospital specialising in elderly care. I joined Nicholas James Care Homes in 2007 and Whitstable Nursing Home in 2008, initially as a RGN progressing to Deputy Manager and Home Manager in 2017. Within the Home I am supported by Jo and Nick. Jo, my deputy nurse manager, who has a 'pro-active and holistic approach to person centred care,' can only be described as an asset. Nick has been with me for 11 years managing the administration of the Home and is an immense support to myself and Jo. Whitstable Nursing Home has a dedicated team who have made it our mission to make living in a care home environment an enjoyable experience allaying any pre-conceived ideas.

Placing my mother in a nursing home was a difficult but necessary decision. She has been in the home for nearly three years and we have been delighted with her care. As her health conditions have progressed, the team have adapted to changing needs. Beyond great clinical care, the staff have been kind and professional, treating Mum like a family member. We are delighted that we chose Whitstable Nursing Home.

A home, exactly what Whitstable Nursing Home is. The care given to my Mum was simply the best. The staff talked to my Mum like family. Every minute of every day my Mum was treated so kindly. First name terms all the time. Nothing was any trouble. Whatever food my Mum asked for she got, which was excellent.
Very suitable for the age group. I simply cannot praise this place enough. Thank you to all at Whitstable Nursing Home for looking after my beloved Mum.
