Nicholas James Care Homes Celebrates 26 Nominations Across 11 Categories at the Great British Care Awards 2026

We are delighted to share some fantastic news! Nicholas James Care Homes has received an incredible 26 nominations across 11 categories at the Great British Care Awards Regional 2026.

This is a wonderful achievement for our care home teams and a proud moment for everyone across the Nicholas James Care Homes family. From our dedicated carers and nurses to our activities teams, chefs, ancillary colleagues and managers, these nominations recognise the people who put their hearts into making a difference every single day.

With 26 nominations across such a wide range of categories, it’s lovely to see so many different roles and contributions being recognised. Each nomination represents someone who has gone that extra mile, shown genuine compassion or made a lasting difference to the people they support.

At Nicholas James Care Homes, we believe great care is about much more than meeting someone’s daily needs. It’s about knowing the person behind the care, understanding their wishes, respecting their individuality and making sure they feel valued and at home. Sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures that mean the most. A carer taking a few extra minutes to listen. An activities organiser helping a resident rediscover an old hobby. A chef remembering someone’s favourite meal. A nurse offering comfort and reassurance to a family during a difficult time.

These are the moments that make our homes what they are.

Our colleagues bring kindness, patience and dedication to their work every day, and seeing their efforts recognised through these nominations is something we are incredibly proud of. One of the most special things about receiving nominations across 11 categories is that they celebrate the many different people involved in providing excellent care. From those supporting residents directly to the colleagues working behind the scenes, every role matters.

Our care teams, nurses, chefs, activities organisers, ancillary staff and managers all contribute to creating welcoming homes where residents feel comfortable, respected and supported. We are particularly pleased to see recognition across areas such as dementia care, dignity, palliative and end-of-life care, and teamwork, all of which are so important to the wellbeing of our residents and their families. These nominations are a wonderful reflection of the compassion, responsibility and commitment shown throughout our homes. The Great British Care Awards celebrate the dedication and achievements of people working across the social care sector, and we are delighted to have so many of our colleagues recognised this year.
