A Century of Life, Love, and Music – Celebrating Rosie’s 100th Birthday at Edward House
At Edward House, we recently had the absolute joy and privilege of celebrating a truly momentous occasion — Rosie’s 100th birthday. Surrounded by her loving family, Rosie marked this incredible milestone with a day full of music, laughter, gratitude, and heartfelt memories.
The celebration was made even more special by a beautiful performance from her grandson, Tobias Ratcliffe, a talented and well-known singer in the local area. Tobias serenaded Rosie and her guests with moving songs — and in a touching moment that left many of us teary-eyed, Rosie herself joined him in singing. It was a beautiful duet, filled with emotion and joy, showcasing not only their shared musical talent but also the deep bond they share.
Rosie’s entire family came together to make the day extra special, and we were honoured to host them here at Edward House. The love and appreciation from the family were deeply felt by all our staff. They kindly and repeatedly thanked our team for organising the celebration and gave special thanks to our chef for the delicious food served on the day.
Adding even more sparkle to the occasion, Rosie received a special birthday message from His Majesty King Charles — a fitting tribute for such a remarkable woman.
It was a day full of love, music, and community — a true reflection of the values we hold dear at Edward House. We are so proud to have been a part of this unforgettable celebration and so thankful to Rosie and her family for allowing us to share in her 100th year.
